The L.U.C.I.D Experience

Level Up Computer Interactive Design (known as L.U.C.I.D. or Lucid) was started by students entering the vast field of game design, and sharing the problems and poor educational experiences they banded together to create a nexus for assisting those whom seek the path to game development.

There are three faces to Lucid, each serving a portion of the whole game development community while offering specialized services to each market.

Lucid Studios

Lucid Studios offers a live studio development environment for both the professional and the student to interact in. Educators assist students entering the field to get hands on experience in their specific career path. Also this environment offers a hands-on approach for professionals to guide up-and-coming talent as a mentoring program that enriches the lives of the students as they learn from actual developers in the field. Finally Lucid Studios offers employment opportunities to students while they continue their pursuit of excellence to give them the needed employment background prospective employers thirst for.

Lucid Students - Collegiate Association

Lucid Students - Collegiate Association offers a strong network of students pursuing similar goals, workshops and community meetings to keep abreast of the game development community and its developments as they continue their own educations. This networking often spawns small groups of people whom develop their own games as a means of trial and error, or to simply work on a for-profit project. Membership is free and all levels of education are welcome.

Lucid Students - High School Elective

Lucid Students - High School Elective programs are facilitated by a given high school in any area of the nation and introduce students to the field of game design as both a logical progressive career path and as an art form for a medium of expression. The course encompasses Math, Reading, Writing, and various forms of History and Social Studies to ensure the student understands that like the movie making industry, game development encompasses far more than is immediately visible on the surface. Core components utilize leading industry standard texts such as: Fundamentals of Game Design, Fundamentals of Math and Physics for Game Programmers, and Introduction to the Game Industry.
